San Juan River
Family Rafting Custom Expedition (SJC)

"We are off and soon drifting around the bend in the river, and leaving behind the world in which we have so recently lived. Silently, so silently we are drifting into the depths of those mighty canyons, into a land of mystery, desolation and eternal solitude. Probably a spray from a breaking wave over the prow of the boat awakens us from a momentary lethargic dream of fairyland, brings us to the realization that danger can be exciting. The scenery is awesome and we soon realize that every time the river makes a bend the whole panorama changes and one startling view after another appears and disappears with bewildering rapidity. We are now consigned to the river passsage, for we have passed the point of no return; only the river, solitude and adventure lie ahead. We are hemmed in with sheer canyon walls extending skyward for hundreds of feet."
~Jack Frost, pioneer of rafting the San Juan River, 1958
