Itinerary

Your expedition begins at the Tag-A-Long office.  We will cross the Colorado River and head towards Canyonlands National Park.

We soon find ourselves on a backcountry road that scales a wall overlooking Arches National Park. We pass a gigantic double rock arch known as Gemini Bridges. After entering Canyonlands National Park, we’ll stop for a 30 minute walk (round-trip) to view the maze of canyons from one of the Park’s finest overlooks, Mesa Arch. Don’t forget your cameras – the photos are amazing.

Before stopping for lunch, we’ll visit another sublime overlook, this time in “Dead Horse Point” State Park, one of Utah’s best kept secrets. From the top you’ll see the rim featured in the film, Thelma and Louise, where the two women drove off the cliff and plunged into the Colorado River a thousand feet below.

After lunch we drive through to the other end of Moab and soon find ourselves on the Sand Flats road. Here we turn off onto the Hells Revenge trail. Feel your heart race as we scale tall fins of rock, seemingly endlessly climbing up into the sky before finally peaking to astonishing 360° views. Then the hair-raising descent back down the other side! Ready to do it again? Great! We travel over more fins, through gullies, and on cliff edges guaranteed to give you a thrill! Don’t forget your cameras – the photos are amazing.

About half way through we reach the edge of the cliff overlooking the Colorado River. Arches National Park is just on the other side of the river. Turn around and you can see the La Sal Mountains right behind you. Now, you are truly on top of the world!

Youngsters are subject to car seat laws. Due to the nature of this tour, we do not recommend it for children under the age of 6 or people with heart conditions, anxiety, or vertigo.
