Utah's River Lengths (GK4 + CA4)

Start in the Majestic Canyons of the Green River. Folks can choose whether to paddle their own inflatable kayak or ride the mother raft with the Tag-A-Long guide. There are fifty sporty rapids during four of these five days in Desolation and Gray Canyons. The rapids are less powerful and intimidating than those on the Colorado River in Cataract Canyon. This is one of the most tremendous rafting camping trips Utah. Fitness Level: Average. Able to play and paddle in the water, but you don’t have to swim. Then continue, after a night in town at a hotel, on the Colorado River. There is time to reflect as we steer Meander Canyon to the confluence of the Colorado with the Green to produce Cataract Canyon. This itinerary features Utah's finest whitewater rafting adventures. It only is available on select dates.

Regularly at the best at levels other than spring runoff. Westwater Canyon keeps you tumbling through rapid after rapid in the narrow, rocky canyon. One full day on the river in 12 of the most agitated, brawling rapids to be found in the West! And Tag-A-Long Expeditions is one of few to offer paddle boats. Green River (GK4) Majestic Canyons of the Green Family Fun

This great family expedition will accommodate children of all ages and people of all fitness levels. Folks can choose whether to paddle their own inflatable kayak, try paddling a raft as a family, or small children, and those who don’t want to paddle, can ride the mother raft with the Tag-A-Long guide. There are more rapids than any other Tag-A-Long expedition, but they are less powerful and intimidating than those on the Colorado River. This great family expedition will accommodate children of all ages and people of all fitness levels. This is a motorized version of our 5 day river trip. The perfect substitution for May and June Cataract Canyon three day trips, when Cataract Canyon water levels are less appropriate for families with youngsters. The Green River has more rapids than any other Tag-A-Long expedition, but they are less intimidating than those on the Colorado River. This is one of the most tremendous rafting camping trips Utah. Fitness Level: Average. Able to hoot and holler and hang on, but you don’t have to swim.

Canoe Green River (JC0) Self Guided

This is a self guided trip and requires canoe and camping skills. When you think Moab Utah camping, don't rule out this possibility. The current is a help but paddling is required. Excellent guide maps available. The area of the expedition is remote. A true wilderness expedition for the free spirit, this canoe trip lets you chart your own path! Up to 120 miles of wilderness river. Do your own canoe trip and rendezvous with a guide raft trip to continue to see Cataract Canyon. Ask office staff for details.

This trip is for anyone who wants to see the interior of Canyonlands National Park from the perspective of the Colorado River. This is a calm water trip. We travel 25 miles downriver from Moab. Few people get these river views. It is scenic, relaxing and a half day that gives memories for a lifetime. (Combine it with another half day tour to do it all!)

The Needles region of Canyonlands National Park is one of the more remote, undiscovered areas of our country. Access is only gained through a spine tingling four wheel drive road (that some people prefer to walk). You spend three days and two nights camping in the rugged backcountry. This is a dark, primitive land at night and you are miles from anyone else but your companions and your guide. Optional hikes are part of this Moab Utah jeep tour, utilizing late model Fords.

The Maze region of Canyonlands National Park is the among the most remote regions of wilderness left in America. On this expedition you are hours from civilization. You access the region through challenging four-wheel drive roads. There is unparalleled solitude and peace while you explore archeological sites. Some 4 wheel drive roads are perilous and packed with excitement. There are full days of hiking with significant descents and ascents, although your guide will help tailor the expedition to your tastes. Four days on foot or in four wheel drive vehicle and three nights camping in the very heart of the wild makes this expedition more difficult than some.

Anyone can go on this great backcountry trip to one of America’s last wilderness parks. The 4X4 roads are bumpy, but not treacherous. The hiking to see ancient ruins and rock art is easy. It can be a long day as the trip starts at 7:15. Mid summer temperatures can make it more challenging. This canyon is gated and locked so rock art and ruins are well preserved. Child backpack carrier available.

Bring everybody on this scenic calm water expedition into Canyonlands National Park. This is an opportunity to see parts of the park you can only see by river and only with Tag-A-Long Expeditions. The scenery is amazing including ancient Native American ruins and writings. There’s even a few thrills as part of the trip takes us over some rugged 4X4 roads in the park. Toddlers welcomed.

Anyone can join Tag-A-Long Expeditions on this great one-day trip. Half the day is spent on some playful rapids on the Colorado River and half the day is spent in a 4X4 vehicle exploring Canyonlands National Park. The big thrills come when we drive the narrow switchbacks of Shafer trail. We hug the cliff on one side and look down a thousand feet or more on the other! Some of the best scenery in America is right here on this trip!

Canyonlands National Park: Off the Beaten Path (HIO)

Folks with very little time but any fitness level can join this expedition. In a half-day you can really get into the backcountry to see some of the scenery in Canyonlands National Park that few other people get to see. The 4x4 rigs are air conditioned and the ride is bumpy but not treacherous. The Shafer Trail packs the most punch as we drive its narrow switchbacks. On one side we hug the cliff; the other side drops a thousand feet or more!

La Sal Mountain Ski Adventure (HUT)

A winter secret is this cross country ski, winter camping expedition into the La Sal Mountains near Moab. The huts are remote. The skiing is moderate to difficult, but the scenery and solitude is absolutely worth it! Up to 5 - 8 miles of rolling terrain skiing can occur in one day.
Fitness Level: Excellent to above average. Trails to huts do not require skins. Telemark ski and trekking skiing available from huts.


White Rim Mountain Bike Shuttle (JBO) Self Guided Biking

Moab and mountain biking go together. This expedition is fun and enjoyable because the terrain is level or down hill to the river. Experienced or moderately strong cyclists will love this trip around the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park. This is one of those expeditions that people love to say they’ve done. It’s a badge of honor! The jet boat is a fast refreshing trip back.

Fitness Level: Excellent to average. 20 miles of steady biking on uneven terrain. Summer heat can make it more challenging. For groups of 15 or more.

The Majestic Canyons of the Green River is lined by Uintah Reservation Lands. The history is rich with trapper tales and conflict with Native Americans. The beauty of these canyons is astounding and the many rapids enrich your voyage. We return for a night in town to continue our deep wilderness immersion in the most remote part of Canyonlands National Park and some of America’s premiere Native American rock art This trip is a long, slow journey through unforgettable country of the Robber's Roost territory where Butch Cassidy roamed. There is some very rugged 4X4 access, lots of hiking, up to 8 miles a day, and a wondrous jet boat ride up the Colorado River to conclude this amazing itinerary.

This expeditions combines two of our very best trips! Cataract Canyon is a trip through the remote wilderness of Canyonlands National Park where you can experience world class whitewater. The Ancient Paths portion of the trip takes you to another remote area of the park to explore ancient Native American ruins and rock art. This is a long, deep immersion into the park designed for the serious lover of solitude. The rapids on Cataract can be huge, depending on the time year. There is hiking though the guide can accommodate those who don’t want to hike long distances.

This is an expedition for the true pioneer. This little explored wilderness area is extremely remote and is perfect for the person with a sense of adventure. Hiking through slot canyons, finding petroglyphs and wilderness camping make this trip a once in a lifetime opportunity! It’s 5 days in a remote, inaccessible area. Rugged 4X4 roads and some challenging hiking (but arrangements can be made if hiking isn’t your cup of tea) make it a diverse, enjoyable trip.

The rigs are air conditioned and the ride is bumpy but not treacherous. This route is our shortest off road experience perfect for those who wish to sample four wheeling. Arches off road by 4x4 serves up gazes upon the park's three major icons, Balanced Rock, Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch. Wear comfortable walking shoes to see Landscape Arch and if the weather is conducive, walk the Tower Arch path in the Klondike Bluffs, an outpost of Arches National Park.
