The Big Picture

Each year nearly four thousand guests take this barrel-of-fun ride down 6.5 miles of the Colorado River near Moab. If you’ve never rafted whitewater before, and would like a taste of the thrill, this is the perfect way to get your feet wet. You’ll ride through four small rapids, class I-II, and enjoy some of the best scenery in America. This is the section of river Walt Disney Company chose to film whitewater rapids!

This trip departs daily and we also reserve a two hour trail ride for the later afternoon. Our raft trip can take younger participants, however, the trail ride youngest may be eight years of age.

The Details

Your day of fun on the river begins at 8:45 a.m. at Tag-A-Long’s office in Moab where you board shuttles for the scenic 26-mile ride to the river "put in." The morning half of your expedition takes you through a photographer’s paradise as you pass by Fisher Towers, Professor Valley, and stunning red rock formations such as the Nuns and the Priest and Castle Rock. You’ll be gazing out over landscape where many famous classic movies were filmed including John Wayne’s Fort Apache and Rio Grand. More recently, this area was the backdrop for City Slickers II and Larger Than Life. Your day introduces you to the fun in Ida Gulch and New Rapid. You’ll bounce and bubble over other rapids and ripples during this playful expedition. Your schedule is leisurely on the Colorado River and opens up the mid-day for personal leisure. Your trail ride occurs beneath Porcupine Rim. A ride over hill and dale to return wandering in and out of a flowing creek.
